PRAISE
ORPHANS
THANK YOU! We would like to express our sincere thanks to our Australian partners who provided financial support for the Immanuel’s Child Christmas Outreach to Orphans and Children projects. Church leaders have reported that this was a wonderful opportunity to invite children and adults to the Christmas celebration. The programs deeply touched the hearts of everyone who came.
Praise the Lord that about 12,000 orphans in the former Soviet Union are receiving ministry through SGA’s sponsored “Orphans Reborn” outreach. The need to expand this ministry is great, so please pray for increased provisions for this ministry to grow and touch many young lives with the Gospel.
LEADERSHIP
The Russian Union of Evangelical-Christians Baptist held their 33rd Congress and Pastor Alexei Smirnov was elected as president of Russia’s largest evangelical church fellowship. He replaced Pastor Yuri Sipko who concluded his second term. We praise the Lord for Pastor Sipko’s leadership, for his wisdom and direction as he was responsible for the vast territories of the country.
INFRASTRUCTURE
In 2010, SGA partners helped finance the construction and renovations of various church building projects. We praise the Lord that we were able to provide pastors with the funds needed to repair or buy a vehicle for ministry.
BIBLES
We are thankful to the Lord that SGA was able to provide Russian-language Bibles, New Testaments, and Christian literature across the CIS. The response to children’s literature has been tremendous! David C.Cook ministries also donated thousands of copies of several titles, including The Life of Christ in the Ukrainian language.
EQUIPPING PASTORS
Over the 2010 academic year 963 students were enrolled at SGA-sponsored Bible schools across the CIS. Programs of study included: Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Christian Education, Music, Deaf Ministry, Children and Teen Ministry, Biblical Counselling, and Evangelism. Praise the Lord for the 234 who have completed their courses, graduated, and can now go out and minister. There are currently 824 student enrolled in this school year and are diligently preparing for ministry. Missionaries are also training to plant church in the Muslim-dominated republics of Central Asia and other nations.
We praise and thank the Lord that nearly 4,000 men and women have graduated from SGA-sponsored Bible training schools. The ongoing prayers and financial support of our partners is a wonderful encouragement to these faithful men, women, and their families. We are thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to serve them for the sake of the Gospel.
YOUTH MINISTRY
Youth ministry continues to expand across the former Soviet lands. Praise the Lord for these zealous and dedicated young people as they joyfully serve in their churches – reaching the next generation with the Gospel. Praise the Lord for SGA partners who are sponsoring national youth leaders in the CIS.
